Mike Ward - National President
Mike is a traditional butcher and is proud of the “craft skills” he uses with locally sourced meat to ensure that his customers only get the best. He has been involved in the butchery trade all his working life and with wife Christine runs their successful shop in Keighley where they specialise in dry cured bacon and award winning pies. Not only is the shop the last traditional pork butchers in the area, but also has a long family history dating back to 1920. Despite the huge commitment the shop demands Mike has been very involved in the local community for many years, as a former School Governor and Past President of the local Rotary Club with which he is still closely associated. He is also a former President of several local butchers’ Associations and Councils and currently Secretary of the Confederation of Yorkshire Butchers’ and as such is greatly involved in organising the annual Great Yorkshire Pork Pie and Sausage Competition. He first joined the Federation in 1970 and joined the National Executive Council 1998.

Peter Yeeles - Employment Rights Consultant
Peter works in tandem with the Federation, and has done so for over a decade. He responds to issues raised on employment matters by members in circumstances where the issue could potentially result in a tribunal hearing.
